REVIEW
Three unhurried deep house grooves here that, quite admirably, don’t feel obligated to ‘do’ very much at all. ‘Monday Blues’ opens with muted 4/4s, closed hats and a gentle piano line, which are then joined by a resonant, slo-mo bassline and almost trumpet-like synth doodles as the track shuffles its way to a conclusion some five minutes later. ‘Early Mornings At Tobias’ has a hazy, trippy, cinematic vibe, while ‘Funked’ ups the energy levels a notch but stays in looping, tracky mode. Obvious peaktime thrills may be in short supply on this EP, but the quality certainly isn’t!
