If you’re after a spot of classically warm and melodious deep house that doffs a cap to various vintage producers, styles and sub-genres – think Nu Groove-era Burrell Brothers, New Jersey garage and early ’90s Italo-house in particular – then this EP from Italian veteran DJ Soch should be right up your alley. Such is the quality of the five tracks on show that we’re finding it tough to pick out individual highlights, though there’s something particularly potent about the effortless warmth of title track “The Power Of Poetry”, the chunkiness of the “trad garage” number “Magic Flute”, and the luscious Italian dream house revivalism of the Don Carlos-esque “Round The World”.
