Three tracks of tight, impactful techno from Hamburg-based producer Carbon on Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds label. Kicking off with Controlling Your Mind, the EP starts as it means to go on. A pulsating rhythm springs to life while a tightly coiled bass and metallic percussion provide forward propulsion. Similarly, Club to Club focuses on the interplay of a few well defined elements to create a track full of tension and release – it’s a credit to Carbon’s production prowess. Lastly, Rock This Place does exactly as the title suggests – it’s a rolling, powerful techno cut with tight drums, thick slabs of sub bass, and laser-guided percussive synth elements.
