Following his Jupiter Mode EP as False Image (with Tom Clark), Canadian Berliner Noah Pred makes his solo Traumraum debut with Lost Mornings: three tracks of raw analog house, techno, and electro designed to help the early hours slip right by. The title piece merges sinuous synth sequences with vintage strings and stabs before a subtle acidic pulse steers into another dimension. At home in this new realm, Strange Ciudad merges dynamically gliding bleeps with angular percussion and surreal yet enveloping pads to create a dreamlike late night adventure. Closing the EP with broken beat electro, sizzling 303s melt into mournfully expressive leads, setting a quasi-paradoxical tone of melancholic intensity. Referencing classic styles while re-purposing them to new ends, Lost Mornings forecasts exciting things soon to come from Pred.
