Eat Dust aka Portuguese DJ and producer Mario Silva delivers his latest slice in the form of the two tracker Hustle EP. This one follows the fantastic Anomalia EP which came out in June 2017 and which gained some great support across the board. On the DJ circuit Mario enjoys playing gigs all over Portugal, particularly in the underground scene. He is a constant presence at Ramboya parties and a member of the collective LIVE Lisbon. His tracks are championed by many jocks around the world which is a testament to his unique style. Hustle intros with a nice solid thumping kick drum with a subtle percussion background. The percs build to deliver a smooth rhythmic flow as a deep subby bassline rocks the low end. Eerie synth lines fade in an out alongside dark chord stabs and cool FX and an urban style vocal snippet. Lots going on here but it’s the percussions that really stand out, creating their own niche groove within the track, top notch stuff. Over Me sets out with a cool pacey vibe as punchy kick drums line up alongside shuffling percussions. Sweeping pads and tech fuelled house chords paint a smooth textured picture as the groove settles in. On the low end a lush bassline dominates giving the track a dancefloor appeal. A dark and mysterious slice that will certainly turn a few heads.
