Next up on James Zabiela’s Born Electric is the second EP on the label from recent signee Jody Barr. Having so far run his own ‘Portable Minds’ imprint through 4 lauded releases and having also released on the Krankbrothers label – Barr does what he does best in lining up 2 bright and powerful club tracks built for big room spaces. His ‘Telepathic Seduction’ EP also comes backed up with a remix from Feel my Bicep affiliate Brassica.
The title track kicks things off with a pulsing Italo sequence coursing through emotive synth lines and concrete drums. ‘Neon Metropolis’ then sets a subby thud under trippy, meandering pulses and eerie vocal snippets. Brassica then offers up his take on Telepathic Seduction, upping the tempo whilst setting crunching hats and claps over layered synthesis. Melodies interweave as tension snowballs throughout a blinder of a remix that caps off another solid addition to the Born Electric catalogue.
