Mattias Coll debuts on Piston Recordings with the superb You EP. Mattias got into electronic music at the beginning of 2008 exploring programs like Traktor and music production DAW’s such as Ableton Live, learning how to use these tools without specialised courses. He threw himself into music production, listening to the likes of DJ Chus and David Penn, this put him on the path to house music where he toys with multiple sub genres to find the best sound. Delighted to have him at Piston and we hope to see more soon. You intros with a classic punchy kick drum, sharp hi hat and clap combi which is sure to get the booty’s moving towards the floors. As the percussion layers build a superb, deep probing bassline emerges to dominate the groove and really get the asses shakin. Cool voices litter the sound as darker elements begin to appear. Subtle chords add that pure house vibe which works beautifully with the dark sound. An absolute must have that will give any set a boost. Return delivers a tight house joint made up of solid, tight drums and some very cool FX that add colourful textures to the sound. The bassline owns the low end with its powerful, resonating tones that are matched brilliantly with cool diva-esque vocal shots. The groove is beefed up by top notch chord stabs that lull you in and force you to move to the soulful vibe. Fantastic stuff that will not disappoint.
