Monitor Issue 02 The Barcelona Edition 2018 – Beatport Charts MFSW73
BARCELONA CALLING
THE CATALAN DANCE MUSIC BARRIO
Barcelona’s temperate climate, rich arts scene, musical pedigree and vibrant culture combine to make it one of the best global dance music destinations. Not only known for its non-stop party mentality, the city also plays host to Sonar Festival and the internationally acclaimed Primavera Sound featuring acts spanning the genre spectrum.
With a party circuit amplified by superclubs Razzmatazz and Pacha that crack off around 3am, a quick afternoon siesta suggests that Friday nights revelry might find its way into a Sunday morning rooftop session in Catalonia’s house and techno hub.
Whether you’re looking to see world class acts like Dixon or Maceo Plex, or prefer a night spent getting sweaty in hip, underground clubs, Barcelona has a limitless number of options for you. In this edition of Monitor we explore the sounds, artists, labels and clubs that make this 24 hour party destination so unique.
