D.Y.A. The ‘Lite’ EP resembles the pleasant contradiction between a sophisticated club track, Edit A, and a demanding yet drifting and calm tune, Edit B. The club-oriented approach of the first edit starts off with a single arpeggio subbed with a lush bass line before it is enriched with various chords to create a catchy melody in the course, flattered by a whizz that introduces D.Y.A’s recorded drums. Giving the track its ease, the break emphasizes on the rhythmical beating of the percussions before D.Y.A opens the second chapter of Lite (Edit A) with a consecutive clap sound and completely comes back to the before introduced soundscapes that are twirled with slightly melodious bleeps. Lite (Edit B)’s tone is set by the rhythmical accumulation of D.Y.A’s drums that stroke the chime-sound in the same way as the periodic chords. The break strips the track down to the melodious elements, while they key-sound is played right up the scale in the following. Then the track focusses on the drums again and does not hesitate to give the synth-chords and chime-sound its well deserved space. With his Lite EP the Berlin based producer distances himself from former slightly pop-influenced productions and reinvents his musical approach still remaining true to himself.
