Angus Gruzman aka Dreems teams up with Jono Ma for this tripped out release on Kompakt. Recorded in London and Berlin, it takes cues from the German label’s melodic heritage but also the tripped out sunset sounds of Goa. On “A Love Trance Mission from NK to 95”, this is articulated by a growling bass and evocative melodies. By contrast, “Springfield” is a more stripped back, rattling percussive affair that recalls minimal house at its creative apex. However, the pair’s creative gaze is firmly focused on tripping the light fantastic and this is audible on the lazy, hazy “Ezy2141″, a seamless amalgamation of German melodies and a laid-back, languid groove that exudes Californian bonhomie.
