Rework were markedly different to the other minimal house acts that emerged during the early 00s; while their peers focused solely on the dance floor, the trio’s use of vocals and pop hooks meant that they had more originality and longevity. Fast forward 15 years and this still proves to be the case. The title track has an off-beat, chaotic shuffle, while Rework’s trademark deadpan vocals slip in and out of the arrangement. “Valencia” is somewhat closer to techno orthodoxy thanks to its churning, filtered chord sequence, but this is only a temporary distraction; the uptempo funk and muffled vocals on “Think About You” show that Rework still sound unlike anyone else.
